Is it allowed to post photos of different persons online or do I need there promission?

does it make any difference if im in the photo or not?

Honestly it depends both on who it is a photo of and in what setting. Was this a general question or did you have some particular photos in mind?

It also depends on the country you are from.

In a lot of countries if you take photos of a general scene with a crowd (ie. 10 people or more, varies according to countries) its ok to post it online. Other countries require faces to be blurred to an extent, or unrecognisable.

I would imagine in most places, the context of the site is important. If you make a gay porn site and post some guy's photo there, it might be a tad illegal.
